Horner Sports Flooring is an international company headquartered in Dollar Bay, Michigan. Founded in 1891, Horner Sports Flooring manufactures a variety of hardwood flooring and flooring systems for use in the sports community. These include, the ProKing® portable basketball floor, the mainstay competition floor for the NBA, WNBA, NCAA and international teams. Horner is a founding member of the MFMA.
CRT & Associates, Inc. was honored to design and build Horner’s new website. Our team worked with Horner’s staff to make sure we created a site that provides the information and data Horner’s customers are looking for. With special emphasis on the user experience, we created a website that provides and smooth interface coupled with aesthetics that denote a technically advanced business.
We also wanted to incorporate lots of movement into the site. In many ways, Horner is in the business of movement. We wanted to capture and convey that. To that end most of the pages have a video background. It was a challenge to do this without making the background too distracting for the visitor. To ensure the result we were looking for, the videos are very short, do not loop and have been darkened to make sure they remain just a background and not the focus.
